Start with the form

The form on this page is the way to reach us. We reply by email to the address you give, with the boats and ships that sail your dates or with the questions we still need answered. Here is what makes that first reply useful.

How to reach us

Send the form at the foot of this page, or on any other page; every form reaches the same place. The five fields in the main part are enough: which kind of cruise, your name, your email, when you plan to sail and how many are travelling. The optional section lets you add the cabin you have in mind, ships you are already considering, a budget and anything else.

We reply by email to the address you give. If nothing has arrived, check your spam folder; replies to a new address sometimes land there. There is no telephone line or office to visit; the form is the only channel.

Write in whatever detail suits you. A short message gets a short reply with questions; a longer one, with dates, cabin level and the ships you have seen, usually gets options straight away. Either way, the reply comes from the same place and covers the same ground: which boats sail your dates, what the water will be doing that month, and what each fare covers.

What makes the first reply useful

  • A month, or dates, and whether they can move. Ships sail on set days, and a shift of two days can open a different ship.
  • The kind of cruise you lean towards: a delta boat, Saigon to Phnom Penh, or the seven nights to Siem Reap. 'Not sure' is a fine answer.
  • Who is travelling: adults, children and their ages, anyone who needs a cabin alone.
  • Ships you have already seen, if any. We will tell you what we can confirm about them.
  • Anything that would spoil the trip: stairs, early starts, long road transfers, dietary needs.
  • What comes before and after: Saigon, Phnom Penh or Angkor nights, and where you fly in and out.

If you have none of these yet, send what you have. A month and a number of travellers is enough to begin.

Examples of first messages

Illustrations of the kind of message that lets us reply with options straight away:

  • "Two of us, early March, about ten days in Vietnam only. One or two nights on a small delta boat, and we would like to see Cai Rang. Flying in and out of Saigon."
  • "Family of four, children 9 and 12, late July. Vietnam then Angkor. Is a ship to Phnom Penh sensible, or should we fly?"
  • "We want to arrive at Siem Reap by boat. October or November, flexible by a week. A cabin with a balcony."

What happens next

  1. We read your message and check the boats, dates and water level it needs.
  2. If something is unclear, we reply with questions first.
  3. We send two or three options, each with the boat, the cabin, the route as it runs in that season and what the fare includes.
  4. You change what you want; each version is laid out again in full.
  5. When you choose, we ask the operator for the cabin and pass on its confirmation and terms.

The how to book page covers visas, holds and payment; the pricing page explains how options are compared.

If you are still deciding

You do not need to know which cruise you want before writing. A month and a question is a fine start. If you would rather read first, three pages answer most of the early questions: delta boat or Cambodia ship for the basic choice, high and low water for what your month changes, and cabins and what is included for the difference between two fares.

The port pages, from Cai Be and My Tho to Siem Reap and the Tonle Sap, cover where each cruise starts and ends and how you get there.

What the form is not for

  • Booking a day trip or a land tour of the delta; we deal with overnight cruises only.
  • Cruises on the upper Mekong in Laos, which we do not cover.
  • Sailings in the next few days; at that notice, an operator's own sales team can answer faster than we can.
  • Payment. Never send card or bank details through the form; payment details only ever appear on a written quotation.

If your question is about something we cannot help with, we will say so in our reply rather than leave you waiting.

Payment safety and your data

Do not send card details by email. Pay only to the account or link named in your written quotation. What the form collects and how it is used is set out in the privacy policy.

Before you pay

If a message asks you to pay to an account that is not shown on your written quotation, do not pay. Send the form and ask us.

Common questions

Questions travellers ask most

Is there a phone number or an office?

No. Mekong Cruiser works through the form and email only.

Can we ask a general question without planning a trip yet?

Yes, if it is about choosing a Mekong cruise. The cruise and port pages answer the common ones.

Can we send a link to a ship we found elsewhere?

Yes. Put the ship's name in the optional field or the notes. We check what we can confirm about it.

What if we have not heard back?

Check your spam folder first. If there is still nothing, send the form again with the same details.
